Billingsgate Fish Market Visit
The Guild Master Mr Gerry Edwards invited members to join him for a specially arranged early morning tour of Billingsgate Fish Market, witnessing the trading at this historic site in action with professional guides from the Seafood School at Billingsgate.
The tour began at 6:15 am with a short introduction to the market, how it operates and some of its fascinating history. The School's knowledgeable guides took members around the market in small groups, pointing out the many varied fish which arrive here from around the world and how their quality and sustainability are assured. Many took the opportunity to purchase fish from the market, benefiting from the expert advice and recommendations of the School's chefs.
